Catherine is the Associate Director, Relationship Management at The George Washington University. Setting policy, procedure, and protocol at the macro level for the division of Development and Alumni Relations, she works to optimize GW’s relationship management system and thereby enable fundraisers to reach new heights of success. Previously, Catherine served as the Manager of Prospect Research at Share Our Strength, a national organization working to end childhood hunger in the United States. Prior to that, she worked in prospect research at the BrightFocus Foundation and the National Psoriasis Foundation.

Catherine holds a BA in International Affairs and an MPH in Maternal and Child Health, both from The George Washington University. She serves on several other boards and committees, and she sings with the Alexandria Choral Society in her spare time. She resides in Northern Virginia with her partner and their cat, Minnie.

Rachel Barclay |
Rachel is the Development Manager for Campaign and Donor Relations at Salzburg Global Seminar, where she leads the organization’s prospect research/development efforts. Prior to Salzburg Global, Rachel worked in Advancement Services at the Smithsonian Institution, in major gifts at Georgetown University, and in prospect research at the US Department of State. She holds an M.A. from Georgetown University and a B.A. from Luther College, and was a 2012-13 Fulbright Scholar in Munich, Germany. She became involved with the Board to create meaningful ways for fellow prospect development professionals to meet and learn from each other.

Evan is the Assistant Director of Prospect Research at Georgetown University Law Center, where he supports international, major gifts, and corporate/foundation fundraising efforts. Previously, he served as the manager of research and donor relations at the Newseum. Prior to moving back to the DC metro area, he was a research associate in Fordham University’s office of Development and Alumni Relations. Evan holds a B.A. in music and an M.M. in music theory, each from Florida State University. Evan joined the Apra Metro DC Board to share ideas and collaborate on solutions with the local prospect development community.

Anne is the managing director of Research & Relationship Management at George Washington University, leading the team of 10 prospect development professionals. Pushing the boundaries of what it means to provide prospect research and relationship management services to our division of more than 200, the team utilizes annual project-based goals and professional development plans. Before coming to GW in 2012, Anne was with UC San Diego, starting in External Affairs in 2004 and moving to Development Research in 2006. Anne earned her BA in economics, magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University and completed a certificate in Work Leadership from UC San Diego in 2010. When she steps off the Metro in the evenings, Anne puts on her mommy cap for daughters Katie and Libby!

Rachel is Director of Prospect Management for The Humane Society of the United States, the nation's largest animal protection organization and largest provider of hands-on services for animals. She leads a team of talented prospect development professionals and brings a big shop perspective to The HSUS's major gifts program, focusing on portfolio optimization, donor data analysis, and pipeline development. Before joining The HSUS in 2017, Rachel worked in higher ed advancement, holding roles of increasing responsibility at American University and Georgetown University. She holds a BA in art history and film theory from Towson University and an MLS from the University of Maryland, College Park. Rachel joined the Apra Metro DC board in 2014 to foster community with and learn from her prospect development peers.

Ted leads vetting of corporations and foundations for brand alignment, as well as individual wealth and reputation assessment, for several partnership teams at National Geographic. Previously, he managed prospect research at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace for a tighter development team for two and a half years. He was also a senior analyst for three years at The George Washington University, where he worked with a broader set of individual gift officers, school-based teams, and international development. He completed an international history M.A. at Georgetown University and conducted analysis at several DC-area think tanks following his time in the U.S. Navy. He has almost 20 years of diverse analytical experience with over six in prospect research. The board, comprised of empathetic, experienced experts in the field, is an excellent sounding board and platform for sharing and soliciting new and innovative ideas.

Caitlin Gilmore |
Caitlin is the Development Research Associate at Defenders of Wildlife, a conservation organization dedicated to the protection and restoration of imperiled species and their habitats in North America.  Prior to working at Defenders, she was the Database Manager at Bat Conservation International. Caitlin earned her B.A. in Anthropology from the University of North Texas and her M.A. in Museum Studies from The George Washington University.

Used to working in solo shops, Caitlin got involved with the Apra Metro DC Board to connect with the research community and strengthen her knowledge of the field along with her peers.
